Product description

Color coated steel sheet,also called pre-painted steel sheet or PPGI/PPGL, is based on metal coils (cold-rolled sheet, hot-dip galvanized sheet, aluminized sheet, high aluminum alloy sheet, stainless steel sheet, etc.)

Products made from organic coatings or plastic films. Because it is the coil of the surface coating of the metallurgical plant, the user can directly process it into a product, so it is also called a pre-painted coil.

Color-coated coils are based on hot-dip galvanized sheet, hot-dip galvanized sheet, electro-galvanized sheet, etc. After surface pretreatment (chemical degreasing and chemical conversion treatment), one or several layers of organic coatings are applied on the surface, and then a product that has been cured by baking. Because it is coated with organic coatings of various colors, it is named color steel coil, referred to as color coated coil.

In addition to the protection of the zinc layer, the color-coated steel strip using the hot-dip galvanized steel strip as the base material also plays a covering and protective role in the organic coating on the zinc layer, which can prevent the steel strip from rusting and has a longer service life than the galvanized strip. Application:

Color-coated coils are light, beautiful and have good anti-corrosion properties. They can be directly processed. The colors are generally gray, sea blue and brick red. They are mainly used in advertising, construction, home appliances, electrical appliances, furniture and transportation. Factories, gymnasiums, airports/stations, indoor partitions, warehouses, elevators, metal curtain walls, etc.

The paint used in the color-coated coil can choose the corresponding resin according to the use environment, such as polyester silicon modified polyester, polyvinyl chloride plastisol, polyvinylidene chloride, etc. Users can choose according to the application.


Types of Color Coated Coils’ paint:

Polyester (PE) has good adhesion, rich color, wide range in formability and outdoor durability, moderate chemical resistance, and low cost.

Silicon modified polyester (SMP), the coating film has good hardness, abrasion resistance and heat resistance, as well as good external durability, chalk resistance and gloss retention, general flexibility, and medium cost.

High Durability Polyester (HDP), with excellent color retention and UV resistance, excellent outdoor durability and chalk resistance, good film adhesion, rich colors, and excellent cost performance.

Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), has excellent color retention and UV resistance, excellent outdoor durability and chalk resistance, excellent solvent resistance and good moldability, dirt resistance, but limited color, cost high.


Structure:

Top film: Block sunlight and prevent UV damage to the coating; when the topcoat reaches the specified thickness, a dense shielding film can be formed to reduce water permeability and oxygen permeability

Primer: It is beneficial to strengthen the adhesion to the primer, make the paint film not easily desorbed after water penetration, and improve the corrosion resistance, because the primer contains chromate and other corrosion-inhibiting pigments, which can passivate the anode and improve the corrosion resistance.

Coating: Generally, it is galvanized or galvanized, which has a great influence on the service life of the product. The thicker the coating, the better the corrosion resistance.

Base material: generally cold-rolled sheet, different strength determines the mechanical properties of color-coated sheet.

Back film: The function is to prevent the steel plate from corroding from the inside, generally a two-layer structure (2/1M or 2/2, primer+back paint). If the backside requires bonding, a single-layer construction is recommended.
